Waste Control Entrance

The Transfer Station Facility is located at 1150 3rd Avenue in Longview and accepts solid waste, recyclables, household hazardous waste, and small quantity generator waste from residences and business located in Cowlitz and Wahkiakum Counties.

What's New

Compost Bins
Compost bins are available at the Cowlitz County Department of Public Works, 1600 13th Avenue, Kelso.  The bins costs $10.00 each are are limited to two per customer.  Contact Public Works at (360) 577-3030.

 


 

 

Hours of Operation
Waste Transfer Station, Drop-off Recycling Center, & Buy-back Recycling Center:Waste Control Garbage Truck
7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m - 7 days a week*
 
Hazwaste Facility (Household Hazardous Waste): 
9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. - Tuesdays and Saturdays
 
Small Quantity Generators, Asbestos, & Wet Vactor Waste:
By appointment only
 
Business Office:
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm. - Monday through Friday
 
*Holiday Hours
The Business Office is closed on all major holidays (New Years Day, July 4th, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas).

The Transfer Station is open for self-hauled waste, drop-off recycling, and buy-back recycling during holidays, except for July 4th, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.  The facility is closed if these holidays fall on a weekend.  The facility is open until noon if these holidays fall on a week day. 

Waste collection and curbside recycling services are uninterrupted during holidays, except for Christmas and New Years Day.  If your pick-up day falls on Christmas or New Years Day, then your garbage and recycling will be collected the following day for the remainder of the week.
